I’m dreaming of a spring weekend quilting retreat, and the fun part has already started: what to sew? I’m looking for a retreat project that’s fast but fun, and just a little challenging…one that lets me hang out with friends, take a long walk, and just relax a bit without feeling guilty that I’m not sewing every minute!
My choice? A Fast Little Baby Quilt—an FLBQ! Yesterday I posted the first of a few patterns I’m considering, Carolyn Friedlander’s Totem Quilt, and today I’m looking at Triangle Jitters from SuzyQuilts….
What I love: this modern design is shown in clean solids, and it’s easy to visualize in different colors…it might be fun to try with reversed values, too! The energetic angles look tricky, but the pieces seem to be a nice size to work with (no teeny tiny bits!). The pattern includes a baby quilt size, and that means I wouldn’t be adapting a pattern to a size I can finish in a weekend, unlike some of the other inspiring projects I’ve found. Bonus! The wavy quilting on the blues and deep oranges example looks easy enough to complete on a weekend retreat!
Decisions, decisions! But I’m not done looking for the perfect FLBQ just yet…check back tomorrow for more!
